Creating Power Copies 

This task shows how to create Power Copy elements, to be reused later.
A Power Copy is a set of features (geometric elements, formulas, constraints, annotations and so forth) that are grouped in order to be used in a different context, and presenting the ability to be completely redefined when pasted.
This Power Copy captures the design intent and know-how of the designer thus enabling greater reusability and efficiency.
Open the PowerCopy1.CATPart document.
  1. Select the Insert > Advanced Replication Tools > Powercopy Creation command.

    The Powercopy Definition dialog box appears.
  2. Select the following elements making up the PowerCopy from the specification tree.

    The Powercopy Definition dialog box is updated.
  3. Select the Inputs tab.

  1. Select the Geometric Component.1 input and rename it into Primary Datum Feature.

  2. Repeat the operation with others inputs like this.

  3. Select the Parameters tab.

  1. Select the Geometric Component.1 parameters and check Publish Name to rename it into Primary Datum Label.

  2. Repeat the operation with the following parameters like this.

  3. Click OK in the Powercopy Definition dialog box.

    The Powercopy.1 is created.
