Snapping Components in Scenes

The Snap command allows you to project the geometric element of a component onto another geometric element belonging to the same or a different component.
This task consists in snapping components in scene context.

Open MovingComponents01.CATProduct document.
Make sure you work in Design mode (Select Product.1 and use Edit->Representations->Design Mode menu).
 
  1. Click the Create Scene icon .
    The Edit Scene dialog box and a scene representation in the document window are displayed.

 

  1. Click OK. You are in the scene window.

 

  1. Click the Snap icon .

  2. Select the red face as shown.
    The element selected first is always the element that will move.

 

 

  1. Select the blue face as shown.

 

The red face is projected onto the plane defined by the blue face. A green arrow is displayed on the first face you selected.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Click this arrow to reverse the orientation of the face.
