Distributing Elements

This procedure describes how to distribute elements within parameters that you define.

  1. Select the elements that you want to distribute.

  2. Click Distribute.

  3. Define a reference plane for distribution:

    1. Place your cursor over a geometric element that defines the plane (e.g., a construction plane, boundary, etc.).  

      As you move the cursor, a small white rectangle is displayed to show the selectable planes.  A line perpendicular to the rectangle shows the direction in which the distribution is performed.
      If you do not see the white rectangle, zoom out from the drawing.  The white rectangle cannot be displayed if the element under your cursor is not large enough.

    2. Click to select the plane.

      The selected elements are distributed along the line perpendicular to the plane.

    3. Click Distribute to deselect the command.

      This makes the white rectangle disappear from the screen.  If you do not deselect Distribute, the next element you select also gets distributed.
