Sharing the Mouse Pointer

This functionality is only available if you have a DMU Navigator license.

Participants of a 3D Conference can share their mouse pointers with one another. A participant in Publish mode can activate the sharing of his/her mouse pointer. Other participants that are listening to this publisher and have activated mouse pointer sharing will see the shared mouse pointer on their screens.

Note: It is not possible to take control of another user's mouse pointer.

You must be in Publish mode to be able to activate mouse pointer sharing.

You must be in Listen mode and must have selected user U1 as Publisher in order to see the mouse pointer user U1 is sharing.

  1. As a publisher, to activate mouse pointer sharing, in the 3D Conference dialog box, click the Activate mouse pointer sharing checkbox.
You will now be sharing your mouse pointer. People listening to your session will now see your mouse pointer in their viewer.

  2. To increase the mouse pointer motion step, drag the Motion step button towards Max.
This will have the effect of enlarging the interval between displayed positions of your mouse pointer in the viewers of people listening to your session as you move the mouse pointer from one position to another, thereby decreasing the total number of positions displayed and diminishing total response time.

  3. To decrease the mouse pointer motion step, drag the Motion step button towards Min.
This will have the effect of decreasing the interval between displayed positions of your mouse pointer in the viewers of people listening to your session as you move the mouse pointer from one position to another, thereby increasing the total number of positions displayed and increasing total response time.

  4. As a listener, to activate mouse pointer sharing, in the 3D Conference dialog box, click the Activate mouse pointer sharing checkbox.
You will now see the mouse pointer of the Publisher to whom you've chosen to listen (reminder: you must be in Listen mode and must have selected user U1 as Publisher in order to see the mouse pointer user U1 is sharing).
