Administration Tasks: Using the Knowledge Directories Structure  

The new Knowledge directories structure is designed to help you manage your data. Data must be stored in the appropriate directories and the environment variables must be properly set. To get more information, see Managing Knowledge Applications Resources in the CATIA Infrastructure User's Guide.

1. From the Start menu, select

Programs>CATIA>Tools>Environment Editor V5R17.

2. Select Environment>New.

3. In New Environment dialog box, enter the name of the environment to be created, BKT1 in this example.

4. Enter the path of your installation folder.  The default installation folder path is:

   C:\Program Files\Dassault Systems\B17

5. Click OK to create the new environment.

6. Edit the variables.

   Right-click the %CATGraphicPath variable, select Edit Variable and concatenate your path (e:\BKT1\intel_a\resources\graphic) into the existing one (insert your data at the end of the existing path).

   Right-click the %CATKnowledgePath variable, select Edit Variable and concatenate your path (e:\BKT1\intel_a\resouces\knowledge) into the existing one.

7. Valuate the %CATKnowledgeBuildPath setting with the path of the directory containing the sub-directories (knowledgeResources, knowledgeResourcesCatalogs, knowledgeTypesCustom and workbench).

   Select Tools > Options. The Options dialog box is displayed.

   Choose the General category in the left-hand box. Click the Parameters and measure  category.

   Click the Knowledge Environment tab and select the desired directory in the Reference Directory For Types field.

8. Copy the created files or the files you reuse (.CATPart, CATProduct, CATScript files...) in the appropriate directories. If not, you will not be able to generate the end-user workbench.

   Copy	.CATfct files	Into	the %CATGraphicPath directory.
   Copy	.CATPart files .CATProduct files .CATProcess files .CATDrawing files	Into	the %CATKnowledgePath\knowledgeResources directory.
   Copy	ARM catalogs .catalog files	Into	the %CATKnowledgePath\knowledgeResourcesCatalogs directory.
   Copy	.CATScript files .catvbs files .CATvba files	Into	the %CATKnowledgePath\knowledgeResources\automation directory.
   Copy	.HTML files	Into	the %CATKnowledgePath\knowledgeResources\HTML directory.
   Copy	The icons that you associated with the behaviors you created (if any).	Into	the %CATGraphicPath\icons\Normal directory.
   Copy	.xml files	Into	the %CATKnowledgePath\workbench directory.
