AIX Tip of the Week: System Backup (Sysback)

The AIX Sysback utility extends the capabilities of mksysb. Some of these extended capabilities include:

• Full system backup, including non-rootvg volume groups and raw partitions
• Produce multiple backup copies
• Incremental backups
• Backup to remote tape or disk
• Restore (reinstall) from remote tape or disk
• Selective restore
• Multiple tape volume support
