Installp Packaging Tool

AIX packages its software in an "installp" format. The installp format includes product information, installation control files, and optional customization files. This format provides benefits such as prereq verification, backout, cleanup and logging.

You can create "installp" images for your software using standard AIX commands. However, an easier approach would be the "AIX Installp Packaging Tools" available for download at:
