AIX Event Monitoring

AIX can be configured to automatically respond to conditions that could adversely affect your system. The responses can include email notifications, a system broadcast, log entries or run a customized script.

There are 84 predefined conditions that AIX can monitor. The conditions cover:

You must use WebSM to configure AIX's event monitoring. WebSM is the Java based GUI systems administration tool. Once you get it running, it is fairly self-explanatory. WebSM is typically enabled by default. If not, see the follow URL's for instructions.

To run WebSM from your PC, you need to install the client application, which is located in the AIX directory.

/usr/websm/pc_client directory/setup.exe
