AIX Tip of the Week

Subject: How to Get NFS to Work with Linux

Audience: Administration

Date: November 4, 2004

The default AIX and Linux NFS settings are incompatible. Linux uses a reserved port below 1024 to mount NFS filesystems. AIX uses ports above 1024.

The following AIX command will remedy the situation.

# /usr/sbin/nfso -o nfs_use_reserved_ports=1
