If you have ever needed to list the open files on a system, here is the utility. This is a bit of freeware that is available from several ftp sites. Note that I have compiled lsof for 3.1.XXX and 3.2.0 + billions of ptf's. If you need to use lsof please consult the man page (lsof_man.page) before calling me. If you are still confused then by all means call me. List of files. lsof_3.1 AIX 3.1 binary. lsof_3.2 AIX 3.2 binary. lsof_man.page The ASCII version of the man page. lsof.8 Nroff text for man page. ( You should be able to place this under /usr/man/man8/lsof.8 to be able to use the "man lsof" command. ) I suggest that you copy the binary of your choice to whatever you call you're local "tools" repository (as seen in your command search path) to the name of "lsof". If you do not wish to use the space a symbolic link will work. EXAMPLE: ln -s /u/hsim/other/references/lsof_3.2 /usr/local/bin/lsof This will work for those that do not use lsof often. Thanks, and happy open file listing. Jim Cox
