Explaination of a Tape Install Ship:
        When we say tape install ship what we mean is 'new product code
        shipped from ISMD to new customers'.  This is not corrective service
        but is shipped to new customers who purchase AIX 3.1.

Code
----
        What will happen is our new customers who do not order Preloaded
        systems will be shipped either 8MM, 1/4" or Diskettes made up of
        installp images and some update images.  When the customer installs
        this code they will be at 3003.  BUT NOT UNTIL THEY PUT ALL THE 
        UPDATES ON ALSO.

        For example:
                bos.obj will be already at 3003
                X11rte.obj will be already at 3003
                
                sna.sna.obj will be at gold but there will be updates for
                        SNA that will take the customer to 3003.

The Installation Guide quietly mentions updatep images.  But it never tells
the customer to actually put them on.

Preload, like new product from ismd, WILL NOT get the last minute additional
updates that the auto ship and corrective service ship will receive.
