This document contains a list of known problems, as well as notes on differences that you may encounter with the 2008 update installed. Please note that where an emergency fix exists, the emergency fix must be installed after the 2008 update. IX22521 LPP installation fails ------------------------------ Attempting to install additional LPPs may fail with the following messages: 0503-008 installp: Cannot find file ./usr/lpp//liblpp.a. Make sure that the correct media is loaded. 0503-023 updatep: Cannot find the required control files. Check that the correct media is in the diskette drive. There is no known circumvention for this problem. An emergency fix is available. To install this fix you must first run the command: uncompress < a22521.tar.Z | tar -xvf - Follow the instructions in the file README.a22521 IX26557 - Corrupted bootlist ---------------------------- The bootlist command may corrupt the bootlist in non-volitile ram. This most commonly occurs when installing or updating programs, where the install/update procedure rebuilds the boot image, or when installing from a system image backup of a 2008 system. The most common symptom is alternating 223/229 or 225/229 in the LEDs while attempting to boot. The problem can, in some case, be circumvented by using one of the following methods. 1) Turn the key to service mode until the LEDs reach 291, and return the key to the normal position. 2) Execute one of the following commands prior to rebooting the system. # bootlist -m normal scdisk - This instructs the system to search all SCSI attached disks for the boot image. # bootlist -m normal badisk - This instructs the system to search all of the direct attached disks (model 320 only) for the boot image. An emergency fix is available. To install this fix you must first run the command: uncompress < a26557.tar.Z | tar -xvf - Follow the instructions in the file README.a26557. 3/2/92 (D.L.)
