ABOUT THIS DOCUMENT 3.2 Support for LIM 4.0 PROCEDURE A LIM 4.0 driver called PCSIMLIM.SYS is supplied with the pcsim LPP. This LIM driver is for use with pcsim to access extra memory. The driver can be found in the samples direc- tory of pcsim. To use Expanded Memory do the following: 1. Copy the driver shipped with the simulator /usr/lpp/pcsim/samples/PCSIMLIM.SYS into your DOS file system. For example: doswrite -D/dos3.3 /usr/lpp/pcsim/samples/PCSIMLIM.SYS PCSIMLIM.SYS OR __ cp /usr/lpp/pcsim/samples/PCSIMLIM.SYS /dos3.3 depending on whether /dos3.3 is a file or directory. 2. Invoke the Simulator with 'pcsim -xmem 4096 -save' to request 4MB of extended memory (or however much you need) and save it in your profile (simprof). The param- eter 4096 is the size of extended memory in 1KB units. 3. Add to your \CONFIG.SYS file the following line: device=c:\pcsimlim.sys FRAME=D000 /X:256 The parameter 256 is the number of "frames" each of 16Kb. 4. Reboot (Ctrl-Alt-Del) or restart the Simulator. 3.2 Support For LIM 4.0 1 09/26/96, READER'S COMMENTS Please fax this form to (512) 823-4009, attention "AIXServ Informa- tion".
