Fax News for AIX Service and Support 11/07/94 - 12/13/94
 
 This note contains change notification and answers to common questions 
 about the AIX tips and hints which are located on cia:/u/hsim/other 
 and copied to AFS, 4FAX, mosaic, and other locations.

 NOTES AND ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS

 1.  There are now lists of faxes by applicable AIX VERSIONS in
     the fax.data subdirectory.  The file names are 31.faxes, 32.faxes, 
     and 41.faxes.

 2.  The script /u/hsim/other/references/fax.update.sh script is an 
     option for submitting new and updated fax information.

 3.  The outside-U.S. phone number for 4FAX is now

        1-800-855-4FAX

     instead of 1-800-855-4444.  When calling 4FAX from outside the
     U.S., the customer must call from a fax machine phone.

 4.  This note is currently sent to the aixcenter@ctgate distribution
     list, some IDD contacts, service planning, one person in Dallas,
     and one person in France.  If you know of other people or
     distribution lists that should be added, let me know at
     roush@austin.ibm.com.

 2.  The following CHANGES have been made to faxes on cia, 4FAX, and 
     other locations:

     tape.blksize.anz            Added info on determining format;
                                    reorg. and put in step format.

     For all applicable faxes, corrected FixDist note because it
     should only be used for 3.2.5 and greater (because of install
     PTF problem).

     4.1 disclaimers have been added to most faxes.  

 3.  No faxes were deleted or pulled.
